My design process
Start with understanding the user's intents. Where are the gaps in the experience? What is the user trying to accomplish?
Classify intents. Since there are different levels of complexity, this is where NLP comes in, to help make sure the utterance is recognized and routed to the right answer.
Write dialogs to answer these intents as though there was no interface. Then use this conversation to guide the rest of the design.
Collaborate with engineering, product, UX, A11y, CX, localization and globalization to ensure the experience and design is feasible, viable and adhering to standards and values already in place.
Prototype, test, and iterate, iterate, iterate! Conversation design is not a one and done project. Language continues to evolve, and so, too, does the expectations of the user.

Favorite quote: "If a brand doesn't have a multicultural strategy, the brand doesn't have a growth strategy." -Ally Siegel
Hobbies: I enjoy reading and learning about psychology, sociology, history, art, linguistics, tech, machine learning, ethics in AI. When I can, I like to travel and practice my photography skills. I sometimes write poetry, draw (mostly botanicals and scenery because I can't draw people). Occasionally, I'll bake if I'm craving 🎂
Fun fact: I REALLY love pancakes 🥞, and I also really love experimenting and trying different pancake recipes. To date, I can make 20+ different varieties of pancakes from around the world, sweet and savory, switching out wheat flour with blends of coconut, almond, cassava, tapioca, rice flour, adding different fruits, and topping with my own homemade syrup— just not all in one recipe! 😬
